You can get various types of cotton cords, including single-strand and 3-ply. The difference between these has to do with their construction. To make a single-strand cotton cord, we tightly twist several cotton threads together to make one continuous strand.

This process creates a strong, flexible cord that’s soft to the touch. Our unique twisting process ensures there are no snags to ruin your pieces. Instead, you’ll have a smooth yarn to work with.

Our single-strand cotton cord is available in different sizes. The cords on this page are 2 mm in diameter or about 1/16 of an inch. If you need something larger, we also have a single-strand cord available in 4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm.

The cords with larger diameters are a good choice for bigger projects, such as wall hangings.
